Thanks from Kim

by Kim Haggen

A grateful and heartfelt thank you to all of you who have served in any capacity at Zion this year! You are the people who are making things happen.

In Thomas Rainer’s book, “I Am a Church Member,” he discusses how as church members we all have a different role or function. Some are the hands, some the feet, some the ears or eyes — all different but all with something necessary and important to contribute. He goes on to say, “There is a beautiful diversity in the midst of unity in church membership. The Bible makes it clear that if one part does not do its job, the whole body does not function well. But if one part does its job well, the whole body rejoices and is stronger.

‘So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”’
1 Corinthians 12:26

So thank you! Thank you for being the hands, feet, ears, nose, and all of the other parts that help us to get the necessary work done and rejoice together! Look for a gathering to honor you for your service (and to have some food and fun) early in the New Year.
