Sunday School Starts
- Kristin Lotthammer
Sunday School is offered for age 3 to grade 5 during the 8:30 and 10:30 worship services.
Zion's Sunday School program follows a large group/small group model. Children will begin in worship with their families and then attend Sunday School after the Children's Message. When the children’s message is over, kids will gather for large group time to join in fun music, videos, activities, and skits to learn about the bible stories. After large group, kids will then follow their teachers to a classroom for small group time. Small group time is a time to dig deeper, ask questions, make crafts, do experiments, build friendships, and strengthen our relationship with God.

Harvest of Hands Event - Coffee Cafe
- Joy Arens
- Coffee Cafe
Please help make this the best annual festival yet!
The Harvest of Hands annual event is held at Zion to feed the hungry in our own community and around the world. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 5, and all proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Food Shelf and a global hunger project.
This year’s event will include a new café area this year serving coffee, tea, hot cocoa, apple cider, and baked goods.
Craft groups will continue to finish many projects in October. Craft groups will meet in the Wilderness Room (behind the kitchen) every Wednesday evening in October at 7pm. All are welcome at the craft sessions, either to work on the planned projects or to bring your own projects and enjoy the time with friends. Join us for fun, fellowship, and a sense of accomplishment.
Think about how you might volunteer for the event and/or donate items for the bake sale and new café area. Cash donations can be will be used to help buy supplies.
Volunteer signup will be available here soon
As you are doing your fall cleaning, remember to set aside items for the white elephant sale. Please bring your white elephant items to the Red Sea room from October 31 through November 3. Other items needed for the sale are preserves, jams, jellies, salsas, pickles, baked goods, candies, dried flowers, plants, crafts, and silent auction items. Items can be brought to the Wilderness room.
Crafters can also work on projects at home. Supplies are available for home projects. Bring in your completed projects by November 3. Contact Joy Arens for more information.
All Saints Sunday Remembrance
Sunday, November 6 is recognized as All Saints Sunday, a day of remembrance for all of the saints that have shown us how to live a life of faith and commitment. We bring those people to mind during our Sunday morning worship, in our prayers and songs, and as we celebrate communion together as the body of Christ. We are thankful for the saints, both living and remembered, who inspire, challenge, love, and teach us each day.
Rather than hold a separate Service of Remembrance on All Saints Sunday this year, members of the congregation will also have an opportunity to leave the name(s) of their Saints, loved ones, who live with God in eternity, on a piece of paper which will then be placed in the prayer "wall".
Paper and pens will be available next to the screen in the lobby/narthex. People can add names to the screen throughout the morning. Our staff will hold them in a special time of prayer that week.
