Quilting Group

by Nancy Rogness

The Zion Quilt Group has completed and donated eleven quilts to the Eagles Nest (a home for United States veterans) so far in 2022. We also have completed four baby quilts that will go to children in foster care.

We use donated cotton quilting fabric cut into 100 six by eight-inch rectangles that, sewn together, create a 60”x 80” twin quilt. These quilts are used while at the facility and are given to the veteran.

The Quilt Group currently meets at 9am on Mondays during the school year. Each Monday we stretch out a quilt sandwich (pieced quilt top, fiber filler, bottom fabric) and tie the quilt together with yarn.

We’d love to have you join us on Mondays! If you can’t join us, we can use your help sewing quilt tops, cutting squares, binding quilts, or donating supplies.
