Zion Weather Policy for Events

When the weather is a factor for church-related events, we will practice the following based upon actions by the Buffalo school system:

  • If the school system cancels or dismisses classes early due to weather, K-12-related events at Zion will automatically cancel for that afternoon and evening.
  • If the school day is completed but after school activities are cancelled, Zion youth and children events will be cancelled for the afternoon and evening. A safe place will be provided for children that normally ride the bus to Zion after school on that day.
  • If school is dismissed at the usual time (even if it begins late due to weather) and after-school events are on, events at Zion will continue as scheduled.

Zion adult groups, committees and community groups using the facility will make their own decisions regarding their meeting. All groups are asked to notify the church office as soon as possible of their plans.

Please expect that Sunday worship services will continue, even in bad weather, for those who are able to attend. In the event there are not sufficient teachers in attendance for Sunday School to continue, children will attend worship services with their parents.

When specific church events are canceled our aim is to make those updates on the church website calendar as soon as possible. Major cancellations will also be posted on our Facebook page.

When events are not canceled, please use your best judgment about travel in your area.

Marysville Worship Guidelines

Marysville worship is held on Monday nights in June July and August at Marysville if the temperature is above 60 and below 90 and the heat index is below 95 degrees at 6pm that day. Services will be canceled when severe weather (tornado or severe thunderstorm) threatens the immediate Marysville area. Cancellations will be posted on the church website and on KRWC radio by 6pm.
