Class Ring Parent Info
Class Ring will begin on Wednesday, September 14. Rehearsal is 2:45-3:45 which also includes time for snack before rehearsal. Co-directors for Class Ring are Jason Chalupnik and Sherilyn Burgdorf.
Students are welcome to stay at Zion until Youth Choir (gr. 6-12), supper and confirmation if they make use of their time for homework, helping with Zion projects, or just quiet “down time” while other programs are happening for elementary students.
Transportation
If you have younger children you already know that the elementary students will be bussed to Zion from Northwinds, Tatanka, Parkside, and Discovery for our elementary after school programs: Kids’ Place (K-gr5), SONshine Choir (K-gr2), Joy Choir (gr3-5) or Ring Forth (gr4-5).
Middle school students do not have a bus option. Class Ring (grades 6-8) handbell members will use a carpool plan for the year.
2-3 drivers will be needed every week, depending on the number of ringers. Sherilyn Burgdorf, Class Ring director, coordinates the drivers. We are looking for parents and other volunteers to take a month or more to fill the driver slots.
We will leave the BCMS pool parking lot (west side of the building) at 2:30. Please don’t be late! Move as quickly as you would need to do to catch the regular busses. Look for the bell flags and you’ll find the Zion cars.
Move carefully through the parking lot. It’s a busy area after school. There’s no need to save seats for anyone in the carpool. Find the closest car and you’ll meet your friends once you get to Zion.
Please print and complete a Carpool Permission Form. Zion will keep record of who is carpooling. We need those forms before you can ride.
Parent Volunteers
Parents, are you available to help drive at anytime during the year?
Parent volunteers are needed at BCMS in the pool parking lot (west side of the building) at 2:15pm each Wednesday. You will receive a list of the Class Ring students and a flag to put on your car while we’re in the parking lot so that Class Ringers know where the Zion carpool drivers are.
Contact Sherilyn (682.1245, ext. 307 or email sburgdorf@zionbuffalo.org) if you can help for a few weeks, a month, or whatever fits your schedule.
