According to Zion’s constitution, a voting member must have communed and made a contribution of record during the current or preceding year (ask us to check if you are not sure).

Cancellations:  In the event that your wedding may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, we ask that you inform the church at least six weeks prior to the wedding date.

Building Use Policies for Weddings

All general building policies apply.  A “typical” wedding will involve the use of the following subject to other ministry needs such as funerals and other weddings:

  • Sanctuary
  • A dressing room for the bride and attendants
  • A dressing room for the groom and attendants
  • Use of the fellowship hall and/or narthex for family/gathering/snacks (fee)
  • If the reception is to be held at church, the fellowship hall will usually be available that morning for decorating.  Availability of the sanctuary and fellowship hall for decorating on Friday evening or sooner must be reserved for an additional fee and will be dependant on other church activities.
  • All decorations and personal items must be removed immediately following the wedding and/or reception.  As the fellowship hall normally has to be set up for Sunday morning activities, left-over decorations may be discarded by the custodial staff which will result in additional custodial charges.

Candles

  • There is a $40 fee for optional candles and use of candelabras on the ends of the pews.
  • Couples may provide their own unity candle.  There is no charge for the use of the church’s unity candle holder.
  • Couples may provide their own candles and candelabras for use in the front of the sanctuary with the pastor’s approval.
If you are considering a wedding at Zion’s Marysville Historic Church, please contact the office for information.
