God’s Gardeners are getting organized  for the 2011 garden season. Those who were gardeners with God’s Gardeners in 2010, will be contacted with details. Others who have an interest in tending a garden please contact the office to get started. We look forward to the warm sunny days of the Growing Season!

Zion’s Garden Exchange begins this Sunday, July 25. Gardeners, bring in your extra garden produce to share with others at Zion. The produce is available to anyone who can use it, with a free-will donation  towards ELCA World Hunger. Look for the brightly colored table in the Narthex from now through the fall.

What was once an empty lot has been transformed into lush green healthy produce. The Harrison Neighborhood has three times the diabetes and twice the hypertension of Minneapolis, mainly due to the lack of access to fresh food. There are 6 garden spots still available for those that would like to be part of the God’s Gardener’s program this year. The available spots will be marked with signs this Sunday, please contact Diane Huston or Carol Olson, or the church office to sign up for one of these spots.

All the garden areas looked great in 2009, and many visitors and members of Zion enjoyed the colorful greeting. Gardeners, it‟s time to start thinking about planting your garden spaces for this year.
