As Zion begins it‟s partnership with the people of the Shelleng congregation of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN). It may be time to learn a little more about the country of Nigeria.
Did you know?
- Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. According to 2008 estimates there are 151.5 million Nigerians. That‟s 20% of the entire population of all African countries.
- Nigeria is twice the size of California.
- A member of the British Commonwealth of Nations, Nigeria has been an independent country since 1960.
- English is the official language of Nigeria. There are over 180 tribal languages also spoken, most prominently: Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, and Fulani.

- There are over 33 million mobile cell phones in use (as of 2006) in Nigeria. These use global positioning satellites and have opened up a new world of communication and business possibilities.
