- Synod Senior Band Coffee Concert
The Synod Senior Band, directed by Em Stark, invites you to its 9th annual “Coffee Concert” at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park on October 29. Coffee and treats will be served in the Commons at 10am, with the concert beginning at 10:30am in the sanctuary. This concert will include many varieties of music, including original compositions and arrangements, sectional features, a solo performance, a guest conductor, and a guest dance performer.
In May of 2005, the Synod Senior Band started with 19 members; their only concert that year was the first annual “Coffee Concert”, at Westwood Lutheran. The band’s membership has grown from the original 19 members to more than 80, with many of the original 19 still in the band. The annual concert schedule has grown from one concert to a full 10-concert season the past three years. The quality of the group has matched the quantity.
Westwood Lutheran is located at 9001 Cedar Lake Road, in St. Louis Park.
- Railroad Garden Tour
Zion members Bob and Thea Adams have graciously invited the Zionaires 55+ group, and others who are interested, to tour their railroad garden on Wednesday, August 21, from 11:00am to noon.
They have combined two different and distinct hobbies into one to make their backyard truly a unique place which has been featured on Pioneer Public Television’s Prairie Yard and Garden.
