To Tune of “Yesterday” by the Beatles
Christmas Day, all the angels came to Earth to say,
Glory to God, peace on Earth today,
It was a sight, on Christmas DaySuddenly, shepherds told by angels had to see
Joseph and Mary’s little baby
This Christmas Day, a jubileeChorus:
God and man on Earth, by His birth
The angels say
Sang it really strong, Angel’s song,
On Christmas DayChristmas Day, there’s this little child right in the hay,
In a manger where animals stay
This Christmas Day, so far awayChorus:
God and man on Earth, by His birth
The angels say
Sang it really strong, Angel’s song,
On Christmas DayChristmas Day, all the angels came to Earth to say,
Glory to God, peace on Earth today,
It was a sight, on Christmas Day
It was a sight, on Christmas Day

And laid Him in the hayHe came to show us Gods’ great love
Gods’ great love, Gods’ great love

On that Christmas morning!
10:30 Grade 1-3: Go Tell it on the Mountain
Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and far away
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is bornThe shepherds all were watching
Over their sheep at night
When a guiding star shone from heaven
And the followed that holy lightGot tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born
They found a lovely manger
Where the humble Christ was born
And God sent out salvation
On that blessed Christmas mornGo tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is bornHe brought with Him forgiveness

And to wash all our sins awayGo tell it on the mountain

In a manger filled with hay,
A shephard boy, he did tell,
A choir of angels sang Noel.Rejoice, Hallelujah,

A Child Will Come by Mark Patterson
A Child Will come to lead us, the Savior will soon be here.
A child will come to lead us, keep watch for the time is near.
Keep watch in the night, for the heavenly light,
that tells of the saviors birth.
Angels will sing, of the love that he brings.
when the prince of peace comes to earth.
Angels will sing, of the love that he brings,
when the prince of peace comes to earth. - A Christmas Carol to Remember

Advent is the most wonderful time of the year to share Jesus – and why he came to earth – with your children. Instead of getting caught up in the holiday rush, focus on what Christmas truly means. Use the Advent season (the weeks of preparation before Christmas) to engage in old and new traditions, make simple crafts, have discussions, and worship Jesus, our newborn King.
56 students have taken time from their busy schedules to focus their attention on the manger . This year’s Christmas program entitled “A Christmas Carol to Remember”, is designed to bring light to the story of Christ’s birth in a new way using a familiar story.
The story is centered around the character Ebeneza Scrooge, an unpleasant woman who cares little about those around her, and has no relationship with God. Three Sprits come to visit her to try and change her evil ways. The first spirit reminds her of the birth of Jesus and what it meant to the world, the second spirits remind her of the true treasures in life, and the last spirit sheds light on what the world would look like without God in it. The play ends in a miraculous way, and you will have to come and witness the story on Dec. 11th at 8:30 and 10:30 service to see the details.
One last exciting tidbit…we will be have two special guests join us for the ending number. You are quite use to seeing them in front of the congregation, but never in this role! Don’t miss out on the surprise!
- All Sunday school kids do still sing the Christmas program. Sunday School that don’t have parts in the program should be dropped off in their regular classrooms and the leaders will escort them to their practice areas to prepare for singing in worship. Pre-K children will sing before the Christmas program, and 1-3 grade students will sing after the program is finished.
- Cast members have rehearsals as scheduled in December. Contact Holly or Roxie if you need a new schedule. Plan to be available from 7:45am until approximately 11:45am on Sunday, December 11.
