Sign Up Now
You can sign up multiple family members for multiple choirs on this form:There’s a musical place for you at Zion! Use your musical talents to bring the praise of God to our congregation through song. Zion offers a variety of musical groups for all ages of musicians. Choirs and instrumental groups are scheduled throughout the year as musical worship leaders. Soloists, both vocal and instrumental, are welcomed, especially during summer. Contact Michael Walsh, Zion music director, or any of the choir directors listed below.
Vocal Choirs
SONshine Choir
Kindergarten - Grade 2: This youngest choir meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 3:45-4:30pm. Through songs, activities, movement and singing games these young musicians have their first experience as members of a vocal choir. Carol Moore, director. A bus from schools is available.
Joy Choir
Grades 3-5: The Joy Choir of upper elementary singers meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 4:45-5:30pm. In addition to their special music offerings at Zion’s three worship services the Joy Choir also prepares a creative musical drama which is presented each spring to the congregation. Kristi Wagner, director. A bus from schools is available.
Youth Choir
Grades 6-12: The middle school/high school musicians meet on Wednesdays during the school year from 5:15-6:00pm. They sometimes also sing during the summer. An invitation is extended for both singers and instrumentalists (band or orchestra). These musicians have awesome musical talents to share. Diane Johnson, director
Senior Choir
The Senior Choir for adults of all ages meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 7:00-8:15pm in the sanctuary. These musicians lead worship on Sunday morning at 8:30 with one “free” Sunday each month to join the congregation in the pews. The Sr. Choir performs a variety of music throughout the year including occasional larger works such as cantatas with brass choir and/or strings. Childcare is available during rehearsals. Gospel Choir

Men’s Choir is a short term choir that leads worship on an occasional basis. Watch the newsletter and bulletins for schedules.
Handbell Choirs
Ring Forth
Grades 4-5: Meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 3:45-4:45pm. These young musicians learn the basic skills of handbells as they learn hymns and songs to use in worship. Sherilyn Burgdorf & Jason Chalupnik, directors. A bus from schools is available.
Class Ring
Grades 6-8: Meets Wednesdays during the school year from 2:45-3:45pm. (Special arrangements made for those with after school activities/sports conflicts.) Middle school ringers expand their horizons to become better music readers and capable worship leaders, occasionally accompanying Zion’s vocal choirs. Sherilyn Burgdorf & Jason Chalupnik, directors. Carpooling from BCMS is available.
Jubilance
Grades 9-12: Rehearsals are set around the schedules of the ringers and directors. The short term group of young adults from Zion and the Buffalo area ring as schedules permit. Sherilyn Burgdorf, director.
Joyful Ringers
Zion senior high youth and adults: Meets Wednesdays during the school year from 6:30-7:30pm. The advanced bell choir at Zion who rehearse weekly, assist in leading Zion worship once a month and participate in ecumenical festivals and concerts. Childcare is available during rehearsals. Sherilyn Burgdorf, director.
Praise Bands
Jubilee
These musicians lead worship each Sunday morning 10:30 worship with one “free” Sunday each month to join the congregation in the pews. Jubilee performs a variety of music from the old favorites with a new twist to contemporary Christian music. Gene & Sheila Blandford, coordinators.
First Sunday
First Sunday is a group of fun people who meet on Wed nights from 6:00-6:55pm in the sanctuary. They sing popular contemporary praise and worship songs. They lead worship on the first Sunday of each month. If you play an instrument and/or love to sing, give First Sunday a try. Pam Freer, coordinator.
Rock N U
Rock N U is a praise and worship band for senior high and middle school youth. It is open to anyone who can play guitar, bass, piano, drums, can sing, or do sound/visual tech. Myron Crawford, coordinator.
Summer Music Opportunities
Use your talents during the summer to provide special music for one of our summer worship services on Sunday mornings. Instrumentalists, pianists, vocalists, groups or solos… you are invited! Interested in Monday nights at Marysville? There’s a special music spot for you there too! Contact Sherilyn to volunteer.
Organist/Pianist
Use your keyboard skills to play for Sunday School openings; preludes or special music; or accompany choirs or congregational singing. Time commitment and placement depends on musical skills and ability level.
