Email Digest of Zion Ministry Needs
The thing about being part of a church is that we are all in ministry. Not just the staff, but all of us. An online community like The Table, helps us see the ministry needs in our congregation … who needs a helping hand … who needs prayer …
When those needs are made visible we have the option of being the church and supporting each other, or of being too busy and blocking out the need. A few weeks ago a voice memo by Josh Lewis, Table VP of Development, was posted online. In his words “That second response is not ministry, it’s not church and, pardon me, but it’s not Christianity.”
OK, but most of us aren’t able to check the Table 16 times a day. We need to know what’s happening without having to comb through our inbox to find it.
That’s where the new Daily or Weekly Email Digest options come in. The Email Digest is one more way you can find out who at Zion is in need of prayer or help today.
- If you had your notifications option set to “Highlights,” you’ve probably already started receiving the Daily Digest by default.
- If you previously had email notifications turned OFF, you will receive a Weekly Digest by email starting Wednesday, July 25. Our hope is that most folks who had previously turned off all email alerts from the Table chose to do so not because they don’t want to be part of ministry at Zion, but because the volume of email could become overwhelming some days. This new Weekly Digest addresses the problem and aims to encourage more participation in our online community with less annoyance.
