The Zion Zambia Partnership

posted by Angela on December 13, 2011

Zion’s first annual Global Mission dessert event, on December 5, included good food, good coffee, good music, good fellowship, a good gathering place, a good presentation by a good speaker, and good contributions for Matilda (from the Villages of Hope) to help with her visit to the US for spinal surgery.

Kathleen Schwartz, co-founder of All Kids Can Learn International in Zambia, shared the joy of working with the orphans at the Village of Hope, and shared the need for Zion to bring a group to the Village in 2012. This would be Zion’s first group mission trip to Africa, a very exciting prospect for the Zion church family.

As part of Zion’s Global Mission partnership, Minda Squadroni, sister of Kathleen Schwartz, will lead a group of 5-10 people to serve at the Village. Co-founders Kathleen and Benedict Schwartz are experts at finding ways each visitor can use their talents at the Village.

The 2012 trip is tentatively set for July 25 through August 10, and already five adults have committed to this team.  Approximate total cost for the trip is $4000 per person which will include your passport, vaccinations and prescriptions, plane fare, daily room and board, spending money, and a possible side trip to Victoria Falls.  Fund-raising will help defray some of this cost. If you are interested, please contact Minda Squadroni at mjsquadro@gmail.com or 682-4064 by January 31.

The trip will be an exciting way to share our faith in the global community.

If you can’t take the trip yourself, please consider supporting the team with your prayers and financial gifts.
