M&M Ministry for Girls
Zion recently introduced a new group for girls. Two weeks ago, the 7th and 8th grade confirmation girls left the boys in Trinity Hall, and took a little time just for themselves. They watched a video by Jason Gray, called “Remind Me Who I Am,” asking God to remind us through all of the struggles and times we feel alone, that we are not, and that we are dearly loved.
It seems like Middle school is a time when the feelings of being unlovable, not fitting in, and being alone through struggles, are the most intense. Tanya Marr, LeeAnn Gorres, Trish Stanforth, and Roxie Otten have been meeting and planning for a group to come alongside Middle school girls as they navigate the challenges they face, and have some fun just for them.
M&M Ministry was named for Mary and Martha, recognizing that we all have unique gifts, and will explore “SELF” (Skill, Experience, Likes, and Foundation) in order to help girls recognize their worth, and to remember who they are in God’s eyes.
Seventh and eighth grade girls, mark your calendar now for the first official M&M meeting for girls at Zion on Friday, February 4. Details of that meeting will be released in January.
